For the past 12 years, my family and I have enjoyed living in San Marcos, a community I cherish. Married to John, we are proud parents to three children, all of whom are enrolled in San Marcos Unified School District. My dedication to the community is unwavering, evidenced by nearly a decade of active volunteerism in the public schools as well as local government. As a licensed professional civil engineer with over 15 years of water resource design and construction experience, I will bring a wealth of practical knowledge to Vallecitos Water District. I am excited to harness my education, skills and passion to further serve the public, driving the continued prosperity and sustainable water management of San Marcos and Carlsbad. I would be honored to earn your trust and your vote.

I have been a licensed civil engineer in the State of California for two decades. In addition to my private sector experience, I served as a Navy Civilian Engineer, which provided valuable knowledge of federal and public infrastructure management. In my current role as an Environmental Engineer, I write environmental site assessments and provide research assistance for groundwater sustainability plans.

Civic Work

  • Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) Community Advisory Committee, 2022 - present

I was appointed as a member of the Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) Community Advisory Committee in 2022, where I represent San Marcos in a seven-city public agency. At Clean Energy Alliance, I collaborate with staff, elected officials, and fellow appointees to educate the public about CEA, provide citizen input to the Board of Directors, and develop community initiatives to increase renewable energy use while providing benefit to the local economy.

  • City of San Marcos Climate Action Plan (CAP) Implementation Group, member, 2021- present

As a committee member, I work as an advisor to city staff to develop plans and strategies to reach the goals of the CAP, and reduce city greenhouse gas emissions. In late 2021, I led the initiative to push for Community Choice Aggregate Energy, which was a primary tool for greenhouse gas emission reduction as outlined in the CAP.    I reached out to local leaders and industry experts, and organized educational webinars for fellow board members and citizens.  I advocated for CCA at several council meetings, and was pleased to see the board unanimously approve CCA in December 2021.
